Founder of Taurus, Sharon Williams OAM speaks to ABC News about crisis comms strategies following the data breach of Qantas after it comes under cyber-attack.
Despite requests for Qantas to put up a spokesperson for an interview, the airline had refused to do so for several days after the attack. Sharon, as a brand and communications strategist, shared her expertise on the issue and the problems that come with an absence of leadership: “Crisis management 101 is being present, on the ball and ready to answer questions”. She emphasises the importance of “strong leadership” in crises and explains the value of having “spokespeople ready to answer questions right from customers all the way through to media.”
